I’m a feminist, but I just want to be a woman who speaks. And is heard.
I do not want to be a feminist.
I just want to be a woman.
I want to be a woman who knows that when she speaks, she will be listened to. That when she simply utters a word, no matter how soft, ears will point in her direction.
I don’t want to have to raise my voice, to attempt to reach a timbre above the barking.
Do not question: Have I not the strength? For yes, I do.
But, I choose to not waste my energy.
I want to be a woman who knows also — when she gives her viewpoint, based on innate understandings of the intricacies of human emotion, that her words will be heeded. For these comprehensions towards the complexity of the spirit are understood to be a natural part of the decision-making process. And are as ‘rational’ as any other facet.
I want to be a woman whose body always remains sacred. A secret chamber to be unlocked with the right key. The key holder of my choosing, one who knows his/her own privilege in holding it.
I want all of the things that wisdom imparts. I don’t want them just for me, I want them for all others, and for all, which includes myself. All of the above, all of the below, all of the surrounding, and all-encompassing. I want the universe and the one-ness to permeate, with these words, this entire globe. For the times. Are changing over and becoming anew.
